...why does it seem that the hero must become the villain in the eyes of those he helps before all can meet destiny... sigh. I suppose I should be use to this by now... but I'm just not. Who spoiled me that I should only desire the very best... as imperfect as I am. I don't suppose that I am particularly vain or alone in my ambitions. Though, granted, I'm certainly not the common man. So, there: I have a touch of arrogance... and whose fault is that? For I am not a stranger the feeling of inadequacy... or being "less than"... fear even. And yet, somehow I've grown accustomed to conquering after all... winning, despite whatever odds. Who did this to me? Why can’t I just settle...
