Studying music composition at the UM School of Music helped me to mature as a composer, cultivating my capacity for musical creativity, theoretical analysis, and my skills as a pianist. I have an appreciation for various musical styles, ideas, and backgrounds. During my college career, I studied composition and orchestration with Michael Daugherty (2000), Erik Santos (2001), Susan Botti (2002), and Bright Sheng (2003).

Excellent teacher of piano and composition for students of all ages, from beginner to intermediate. Lessons focus on reading and writing music, as well as playing by hear for various genres, including classical, jazz, sacred and contemporary music. Boulder Symphony Orchestra, March 2011

I was commissioned by Music Director Devin Hughes to compose a 12-minute work for chorus and orchestra. Song for Humanity will be premiered by the Boulder Symphony in collaboration with the 120-voice Boulder Chorale on March 12, 2011 in Boulder, Colorado.

Psalm 150 Symphony, 01/2006 – 12/2006

Founded and served at as Music Director, conductor, and composer-in-residence for the Psalm 150 Symphony, a 501(c)(3) non-profit. The 45-piece orchestra of local musicians performed a two-night concert series featuring all new works by local composers during October 2006. Articles featured in Detroit News & Free Press and on WXYZ Channel 7 Action News.

Keyboardist

Rock Nation Band, 04/2004 – 01/2006

Worked as one of the keyboardist for young rock group sensation, Rock Nation headed by DeVaughn Murphy, DeVaughn Murphy and Cedric Berry. Accompanied band on national tour performing concerts in Detroit, Michigan, Washington D.C., Phoenix, Arizona, and New Orleans, Louisiana and other cites across the United States.
